March 24, 2005 - Savage Gulf South Rim

On March 24, 2005, I hiked the full length of the South Rim Trail. It had been nine years since I hiked the South Rim.

For the first half of the hike, it was very cloudy. Just as I reached the end of the South Rim trail, the clouds finally disappeared. The remaining pictures are from on the way back.
Tulip Tree Overlook - By far, this is the best overlook on the South Rim Trail. Tommy Point Overlook, my favorite overlook on the North Rim, is near the right hand side of the photo above.
