| Big Koi - In the bottom pond since October
17, 2001. This fish has survived a lot of my mistakes.
|
"Miracle Koi" - In the
bottom pond since June 7, 2002. I was installing a new filter system in
May 2004. I came home from work one day and found that this fish had
'rode' the bottom drain and had jumped out of the pre-filter drum and
landed on the ground. It had flopped around in the mud and I barely even
noticed it. I put the fish in the bottom pond and it floated on it's
side. I held the fish upright in the water and 'worked' it's gills with
my hand. After about a minute the fish started showing signs of life and
eventually swam away. Amazing!

| Yellow Koi - In the bottom pond since April
16, 2003. Koi was only 4-5 inches long when introduced to the ponds.
|
This koi hatched in the middle pond in the Summer of 2003. I kept it in an aquarium throughout the following winter. Moved koi to top pond in Spring 2004. Eventually moved it to the bottom pond with the other Koi. |
|
Yellow Koi In my pond from October 17, 2001 to July 8, 2003 This was my favorite and most friendly koi that I lost due to an unfortunate pH crash I experienced back in the Summer. I lost 6 koi and learned an important lesson on dealing with pH. |

![]() I built this windmill in the Spring of 2001. It is 5 feet in diameter. It has come apart numerous times, I just keep putting it back together. I usually dismantle it when expecting severe weather, but sometimes I just forget. |
