I've been blessed to have my own personal recording studio. It is full of wonderful tools to aid in the creation of music and video. All of my music backing tracks are created here. I also enjoy using this room for editing digital home movies. Click to see how RUOK Studio has evolved over the years.

The Eric Dempsey Quartet
Since my teenage years, I've enjoyed Southern Gospel Music. Some of my favorite groups then were The Kingsmen, Gold City, The Cathedrals, The Bishops, and The Hoppers
I thoroughly enjoy recording a song in the studio and pickin' out the harmonies and recording them one track at a time. I've been doing multi-track recordings for a while now. In 1990, I bought a Yamaha 4-track cassette tape recorder. In 1995, I upgraded to digital 8-track not long after Alesis introduced the ADAT that changed everything. Then in 1999, I virtually had all the tracks I wanted with a 'home built' computer

Photos from the 90's

Photos from the earlier days. I have been blessed to perform with some very talented people.

The photo to the right was taken at Whitwell City Park. I added the foggy stage background using Photoshop™. After creating this image, I was reminded of a story. As a tenth grader (1987), I remember going to band class one day, and the director told us not to get our instruments and that all we would need is a blank sheet of paper and pencil. Our instructions; to draw a picture illustrating what we thought we would be doing ten years down the road. We turned the papers in and never got them back. But I still remember what I drew. It was a stage filled with keyboards, lights, and speakers, and this was before I owned my first keyboard. It's been over twenty years now, and I never really achieved what that drawing illustrated. But I am indeed thankful for the abilities that the Lord has given me and for the sense and desire to use them for Him.  Eric Dempsey
So, why RUOK Studio? The name RUOK has been around for a long time. For those who are still confused, it is pronounced "Are You OK?". Since my high school days, I have always called my music workstation RUOK Studio. How I came up with such a name has seemed to have been lost with time. I have personal recordings labeled with RUOK Studio back to at least 1988. Anyway, the name stuck, and I have used it for over 20 years!

As you can see from above, when it comes to music equipment manufacturers, I'm evidentially not devoted to anybody
